So we should all write President Obama a "Thank You" letter for his help in repairing and expanding our gun range options, right?:dunno:

Because let us be honest, this money didn't come to us without crossing his desk.

    Regards,

    Doug

Less than 25% is going for the shooting ranges.

    We'll take it.

The shooting range at Johnson County Park is fabulous...it'll be nice to have a couple more like it.

Yes SIR! We hate that damned socialist gubermint until it is for something we love...

These monies are from Pittman-Robertson funds. These funds are supplied by ammo and firearms excise taxes and are intended for conservation and recreation projects. So.... the money comes from you. ☺️

I would bet its Federal Excise tax from the Pitman - Robertson Act, its about 800 million a year now. It doesn't have anything to do with Obama..
Things like this is why the tax is collected.

And with the increase in sales of guns and ammo, the fund is getting lots more money into it. I have heard the thieves in congress have been considering putting it to other uses.

Amazing how quickly this turned into a political discussion and then an argument, albeit almost civil.

Took all of one post to start the process. Kinda disappointing.

The federal government giving tax money to the state, I believe, is inherently political.

You gentlemen are correct. I have learned something new today.

We don't need to thank President Obama. Oh, no.:nono:

Instead, we need to give much praise and love for the father of the new deal. The great court packer himself! The lord socialist of the 20th century: President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (D)!

We should also thank the two (2) DEMOCRATIC elected officials, Senator Key Pitman (D) and Congressman Absalom Robertson (D), for whom the law was named.

I am so thankful that you corrected my error :rofl:on which HUGE government politician we should give thanks to.

Yep. Sometimes I just love being proven wrong.

    Regards,

    Doug

PS - And I still stand by my thought that we are all hypocrites on certain issues, including myself BTW.:wavey:
