3 years, 144 years, what's the difference to a journalist?

You appear to be confusing 2 different things. I accept your assertion that the Indiana Supreme Court eliminated the duty to retreat in 1865 (which, by the way, was not 144 years ago), but the law that KF references was just passed a few years ago. Apples and oranges. Or at least, Gala apples v. Fuji.

First the point I was making is that neither Stand Your Ground nor Castle Doctrine are codified in Indiana law.

Secondly No Duty to Retreat was not necessary to be codified, because it is a negative law. Unlike other States that once had a statute that required retreat Indiana never did. New York and New Jersey and some others still have a Duty to Retreat.

Indiana codifying no duty to retreat is worth as much as them codifying not having to chew bubble gum and hop on one foot before you may use deadly force to defend you and yours.

It's something of an Internet grammatical meme. I got jacked up by the THPD which either doesn't know or doesn't care about Atkins and Malone, even though I knew Malone and informed my lawyer of it, he neglected to use it, hence I got jacked up twice.
