FBI Offers Reward In Agent Gun, Gear Thefts - Indiana News Story - WRTV Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS -- The FBI offered a $5,000 reward Friday for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for a series of home and vehicle thefts in which an agent's weapons were stolen.
Investigators said the thieves took an FBI SWAT uniform, two sets of body armor and three guns, including two machine gun-style rifles.
Police said the thieves hit at least 12 homes early Thursday west of Interstate 65 between 71st and 86th streets on Indianapolis' northwest side.
The guns -- an H&K MP5/10A3 10 mm rifle, a Rock River Arms LAR15 rifle and a Springfield 1911A1 .45-caliber handgun -- are unique, which will likely make it difficult for anyone to sell them without being detected.
Investigators said at least one set of body armor would be easily distinguishable because "FBI" is displayed on the front and back.
The FBI asked anyone with information to call them at 317-639-3301.
