Shoot for what purpose? Target and plinking? Shoot the nine. It will go through paper just fine.

I always carry .40 SW for protection. It isn't a compromise between 9mm and .45ACP; it is the best of both without the worst of either.

All right guys what is your favorite handgun caliber to shoot? I have shot only 9mm, .40 S&W and .45acp but I would say i really like 9mm, I know some people say its weak but the lower recoil is fun for faster shooting. I find the .40 to be "snappy" and .45 well the price just hurts. :ar15:

    I enjoy several, but..

There is another thread that was started yesterday that is a poll.

    10mm here, BTW.

I enjoy the 10mm the most recently. My son and I shoot our 10mm together. Dad is responsible for all the reloading since he has the experience and the equipment. We have a good time together shooting the 10mm and discussing its coolness. :ar15:

BIG fun hunks of lead (45ACP)
    or
BIG Fast hunks of lead (44MAG)

I don't know why but the 45acp just trips my trigger. I'm not sure if it's the Big Ole hunk of lead or the Smooooth way it rolls out of the gun, I just like 'em :)

And, I must be getting old (turned 46 last week) because the 44 mag still feels like the "King of the hill" when it comes to power, speed, and accuracy, (yes I know about the "others") It just seems to have hit the right balance between pistol and cannon :)

If we are just talking about favorites to shoot, not in a self-defense role, I'll go with:

.50 AE - just because (But one mag per session is fine, thank you.)
.45 ACP - I, too, like that slow, soft burn and the whoosh I feel in my gut
.357 Sig - because I like that nice quick hit out of a small Glock
