OK, off all the groups I love to listen to, I have to put Queen near the top. Freddie Mercury had pipes that I still don't understand how they worked like they did.

My favorite "starving artist" would be Devon Allman/Honeytribe/Royal Southern Brotherhood. Yes, that is Allman, as in Gregg Allman's son. Yes, its genetic.

My favorite concert group is Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They put on the best show I have ever seen (5 times and counting) and they are absoluetely gracious to their fans.

back in the day they were known as savatage back in the 80's and very early 90's they were before their time then too :D

@jake- I have heard some of their Savatage stuff, but still gotta say I prefer the TSO lineup. I especially love how they split their band in half for concerts. I've had the joy of watching both the East and West coast lineups- awesome time!

i like the tso stuff but.... i like the savatage stuff best. might be cause i'm 41 and a child of the 80's? and i'm pretty much a metal head :)

i guess after listening to the savatage stuff the TSO stuff isnt that big of a shock to me either, they always had that kind of operatic/theatric flair.

its all good and i would love to see either show! very talented guys regardless of what brand they are under at any given moment

they do 2 big tours a year- its worth catching. They should be in Indy this winter. GO SEE IT! You won't regret it- the pyrotechnics alone are worth the ticket.

They had a cold spell in the late 19080's early 1990's but man how could one go wrong here.

    Early rock: Johnny Cash

Classic rock all time : Stones

1970's : Hard but Steely dan Aja album alone qualifies,

1980's: Greatful dead With the Brynt Midland on keyboards

    Alt: Violent Femmes

    1990's : The Meat Puppets

2000: Dave Mathews Band (If I don't name him the old lady won't forgive me)

2010: Jack White and his many bands,

Jazz: Miles Davis (On green dolphin street or Kind of blue)
