I've got my dad's Browning .25 auto along with the sales slip showing he bought it from a long out of business local hardward store. He paid $29.95 on Sept. 11, 1956.
I have my dad's old .22 Mossberg. My dad was the only gun guy in his family so there is nothing from generations before him... That is kind of the reason I have decided to keep my guns for my (future) kids to figure out if they want them or not...
I have a great uncles colt cobra snub nose .38 and a Mauser he got in WWII. The colt is original and has some wear from him carrying it. The mauser is not original, all original bolt, barrel, action with matching numbers but the gun sported many years ago. After he died it was neglected for about 14 years and sat in an attic. So last year after i got it I decided to refinish the mauser and I'm glad I did because it not a bad looking gun now and it's a good shooter. Those are two gun I'll never sell or trade.
