So..Im testing some high pressure hydrogen{H2} cylinders tonight..I notice a note on one of them.."This cylinder is a customer owned cylinder..it had a dime sized hole in it which was repaired with BONDO..please do not fail this cylinder" so I failed it...WTF! someone out there is actually stupid enough that they think that a layer of BONDO is going to hold back 2400psi of pressure..not to mention the 10% more pressure that I have to test it at. I hooked it up just to see what would happen and it blew out before it reached 50 psi..I was actually surprised it held to 50:rolleyes: yay dumb people!!!:noway:

    Yeah.

There is, at long last, something duct tape just can't fix.

Besides, hydrogen is super-flammable...that'd be a doubly-bad idea.

"Oh, hey, guys - what I thought I'd do was overfill a tank of hydrogen and then let it seep out of a tiny hole so it heats up due to friction and blows us all up - does that sound okay with you guys?" :noway::noway:

    So you deal with gases?

For some reason I'm not terribly surprised. :):

I HAVE RETURNED! If only for as long as my modem holds up. :dunno:

BTW, Tax season is AWESOME. This year anyway. :) Paying off debts feels good.

Oh, and my :poop: box for a truck won't be a :poop: box any longer. :D

:):yep I deal with all sorts of gases...alot of my own :dunno: but also everything from refrigerant gases {R22} to medical grade oxygen. I actually deal more with the cylinders they go in. I operate a type of ultra sound machine to inspect the cylinder...apparently I am one of only a hand full of people in the country that are qualified/certified to operate this type of machine...its "new technology" for this type of business. yet I still dont get paid worth a dern:noway:

:): if it wouldnt cost me my job Id be all for it:rockwoot: Ive yet to send a cylinder out that killed someone.
high pressure cylinders are dangerous..in the 7 years that I have been working with them I've broken a wrist,a couple of fingers, smashed the end OFF of my ring finger..messed up a leg and the worst was getting hit in the face when a valve shot out of a cylinder..she had about 3000psi behind her when she blew and I just happened to be standing rite over it...glanced of my jaw,cut my ear a bit and knocked off my hat..if it would of hit me straight on I wouldnt be typing this rite now..it actually shot through the ceiling of the shop! I couldnt hear out of my right ear for a few days...its serious bidness!
