i've seen a $13,000 shotgun... granted, it was custom... gold inlay, scrollwork, modified stock so the 90 year old man that owned it could still fire it without dislocating his shoulder...

$1600 is a lot of money for a shot gun whose base model is $300.

You do not have to go custom to exceed $10,000 is the shotgun world. Fine double barrels have been built for the richest and most powerful men in the world for years. Beretta is considered the cheapest of the premium brands. Look up the price for a DT-10 EELL, and that is a production gun. Krieghoff, Blazer, and Perazzi have production models that send $20,000 goodbye. Collectable Doubles easily exceed $50,000. It takes $200,000 plus and a three year wait to get a Fabbri shotgun.

When I worked at Americase, I designed a case custom fit case for a collectable shotgun the owner was bragging that he only had to give $140,000 for it. That was not the most expensive shotgun we ever handled either.

I really like higher end shotguns, but shotguns sports are one of the few where a $400 shotgun and a $16,000 shotgun are on equal footing. I ran 50 in a row on a trap field with a Mossberg 500 in 1995. That was the cheapest gun on the line, and lots of owners of expensive guns never shoot 50 in a row.

Perazzi had a both at SHOT. Their cheapest gun was about $12000 and up to the $90000 discussed above. Absolutely beautiful guns.

Guy told me he saw a person plunk a lot down on a non numbers matching WW2 Colt 1911.
But all the paperwork was there, and it was being sold by the widow of the prev owner (prev owner a noted WW2 hero).

Idiots and their money, I will be glad when these suckers finally run out of it so things can get back to normal or at least as close to normal as possible.

I saw several $25,000+ skeet guns at the last event that I went to. Beautiful stocks and engravings, I just don't see the point in spending that much on a shotty.

The guns that I just posted about were krieghoffs. Probably 25 of them between $2500 and $30,000.
