Question about event pricing: would veterans continuing their service as Dept. of the Army Civilian employees qualify for the free weekeend or day ticket?
Apologies for the delay in answering your question. Only active duty military, reserve and guard qualify for the military free admission perk. I hope that won't keep you from coming to an event some time soon. We've got plenty of shoots scheduled for the year including some KD (Known Distance) shoots that stretch out to 400 yards. To attend the KD shoots you must attend a "regular" shoot first which is done at 25 yards/meters. Don't miss out this great opportunity to "do it for real." Get to an Appleseed shoot early in the year and then take advantage of the opportunity to do some KD. I look forward to seeing you on the line.
Thanks for reply. Me and two friends are going to register for a spring event, and one was tight on funds. Wasn't trying to be cheap, just checking since he works for DOD. The price is right and I'll pay his way if need be.
If all else fails contact the Shoot Boss for that event. Appleseed isn't trying to gouge anybody and their Shoot Bosses are more than accommodating when it comes to this kind of thing. I am certain something can be worked out.
Project Appleseed is 501(c)(3) entity (not for profit). The cancellation of the ROC program and event price increases are to cover costs, not increase profits. Getting venues, getting trained personnel there, targets and backers, web related expenses, it all ads up. Which is why an Appleseed weekend is such a great value--because there is no profit. Everyone involved reaps the rewards though.
