I have to share this story as it is one of the most unique customer service experiences I've ever had. So here we go...
After taking a carbine class in early December (Revere's Riders), I noticed my Eotech model 517 experiencing reticle fading in the lower 1/3 of my viewing window. A week later I contacted them to begin the warranty process. They agreed to fix it for free. 2 week shop time plus a couple days shipping. Dont send till after new year as they will be shutdown for holidays (good). Sounds stellar...
January 4th, package sent from my post office as 3day priority with a $500 insurance coverage. Expected delivery Jan 7th. Plenty of time as I am attending the RR 2-day class in late Feb. All seems well, for now.
I'm a patient man, but when I tracked the package on the 13th and it hadn't yet arrived, I began to twitch. Called eotech to verify. Everyone forgets to scan a box or 2 in their life. No such delivery. I said woosah and after a disheartening hang up I started to lose hope. Rep Mike K. said to call him back the following Monday (21st) and check one last time ...
Monday Jan 21...starring at the clock waiting for the office to open. Again, no package. Mike K, same representative who certainly remembered me, chuckled and said "good luck dealing with the USPS". My heart sank. He then proceeded to explain that they would send me a new unit at no cost because they value their customers. I'm completely flipped now. Model 517 is now discontinued, 518 is the equivalent replacement. I thank him extensively. Back to happy.
15 min later I get an email from him. They don't have anymore 518's in stock. He'll send me a 558 I instead. But what model is that? After a website check it's the NV compatible model with built in QD mount. $200 MSRP difference. What an upgrade!
Definitely a thumbs up if there ever was one.
