    INGO friends, I've been screwed! :(

    We got up this morning and the birds have cleaned me out -- I have almost zero berries left on the bush. There were at least a dozen birds all over the bushes this morning and to quote Cleavon Little from "Blazing Saddles", they were open for business!!!

    My wife and I were astonished how many berries they had eaten since yesterday...it was like looking at the bread and bottled water aisle at Walmart before the ice storm last winter. Unreal! That said, I think I'm getting nothing from that bush now. I knew I should have picked them on Saturday morning, but we had out of town guests and the heat wasn't helping, either.

    I'll try to keep you guys in mind for root cuttings this Fall...

    YEAH the birds will rape you. they have smashed most my blackberries, all my blueberries, and there is a few raspberries left but not looking good for the home team. i am going to try hanging cd's on strings or maybe a couple aluminum pans so they move around and make noise
