I have used several finishes. I use KG gunkote on most and now am using Cerakote on the ones that will see alot of holster wear.
If I have pitting I will typically spray gunkote bake it and sand it smooth and repaint that will usually take care of light to moderate pitting.
BTW I have been painting over metal for some twenty years now in one form or another and IMHO the best two gun finishes I have used are GunKote and Cerakote
Hey Chance I know this an old post but I am in a similar situation with my shotgun. did you sand between coats? how did you get these results? gun looks amazing and I would like mine to turn out this well any pointers would be appreciated Thanks
