Where can one find powdered graphite?
I've seen suggestions that say powder dispensers can benefit from a graphite lube to make them run more smoothly.
I have no idea where to look for graphite.
Any suggestions?
AutoZone maybe?
If you need to find it locally, maybe somewhere like a hobby shop would have some. Don't bicyclists use it for their cables? Not 100% sure of that, but maybe a bike shop??? Might be worth a phone call???
Powdered graphite is sold in small plastic squeeze tubes at most hardware stores. It's used to lubricate locks and is inexpensive. I would imagine that auto parts stores would also have it.
In days of yore I use to buy Dry-Lube which had a needle like nozzle and came out as a liquid but the liquid would quickly evaporate leaving a graphite like substance that dirt would not stick to. Used it to lube the clutch and brake cables on my dirt bike as the liquid would carry it further down the cable. Made the cables easier to pull than brand new.
