I've been to Old Oaken Bucket games since I was six, and I too found it amusing that Notre Dame was trotted out instead of IU's amazing football track record.

This isn't complicated. IU = basketball. Notre Dame = football. Purdue = something which one cleans off one's shoes. This is in both the Bible and the Constitution of the State of Indiana.
