America is falling apart and Trump will divide it more, but holy crap never Clinton. I am always for pro 2A but has to be bi-partisan and willing to bring this country together. Too bad we don't have that option. Paul Ryan was waiting for 2020 but could use now. Jeb was actually great if he could of changed his last name.

Bi-partisan? Really? All Bi-patisanism gets us is closer to total socialism.
How about this? How about we elect a bunch of conservatives and make the liberals meet us half way?

The population will continue to divide regardless of who's president. We don't really have anything in common from which to forge a national identity anymore. That's not a bad thing, but just the way it is.

I don't believe that. What I do believe is that our "me" culture has been an overall detriment to our country. Rather than focus on the things we have in common (which are numerous), we focus on the things that make us different, as small as they may be. Americans have, or at least used to have, a very unique outlook concerning the world. It may not be apparent to us, but non-Americans have always been able to point us out with ease, and often look to emulate us. I think one day, we'll reverse our current trend, and get back to being the people we traditionally have been.

^^^^^ America has suffered through such crises and transitions before; I am old enough to recall the divisiveness of the 1960's. It is part of nature of a country that has been living and evolving for over 240 years.

My pie in the sky wishlist is this:

    We elect Trump
He accomplishes some good during his four years (and prevents the evil that is Godzillary)
He does not run for re-election
The Trump presidency serves as a springboard for a revitalized party that is constitutionalist but also a little populist and they sweep 2020
We begin the long slog to tame our debt
Our children live happily ever after

Yeah, lets get some bipartisan trade deals going. The american worker still has a job in some places, we need imports from the 3rd world to make sure they lose their job too!

Lets invade Syria and Iran, because that's in our best interests!

Russia is run by a big meanie, we shouldn't talk to them, I miss the cold war!

Hey guys I'm a moderate, I'm so cool, I bet you've never met someone like me before! I'm so edgy I actually support the tortoise!

New polls show Clinton and Trump neck-and-neck | Fox 59

n a Washington Post-ABC News survey released Sunday, the candidates both registered net negatives in the double-digits, with 57% of the electorate saying they had unfavorable impressions of the respective candidates. Fifty-four percent of respondents to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll took a dim view of Clinton, while 58% looked unfavorably on Trump.

Heh, the last guy in the race with a net positive favorability is Bernie. It really is going to be a race for who can turn out more voters, "A vote for Hillary is a vote against Trump" or "A vote for Trump is a vote against Hillary".

Everything that is happening to the Republican party has been brought on by their own incompetence.
There hasn't been a decently conservative candidate as far back as I can remember.

You have to admit, the candidates that have been winning recently in the senate and house have been pretty conservative.
    Why not the president?

There were more conservative options this year (compared to Trump) and the voters overwhelmingly rejected them. The republican party isn't the conservative party. Conservatism certainly aligns most with some republican principles. But far too often people tend to view political affiliations as black/white or left/right, when the truth is usually a bit more difficult to nail down.

"...There was a time in this country – and many voters in places like Indiana and Michigan and Pennsylvania are old enough to remember it – when business leaders felt a patriotic responsibility to protect American jobs and communities. Mitt Romney's father, George, was such a leader, deeply concerned about the city of Detroit, where he built AMC cars.
But his son Mitt wasn't. That sense of noblesse oblige disappeared somewhere during the past generation, when the newly global employer class cut regular working stiffs loose, forcing them to compete with billions of foreigners without rights or political power who would eat toxic waste for five cents a day. Then they hired politicians and intellectuals to sell the peasants in places like America on why this was the natural order of things. Unfortunately, the only people fit for this kind of work were mean, traitorous scum, the kind of people who in the military are always eventually bayoneted by their own troops. This is what happened to the Republicans..."

    Nay nay.
There were conservative candidates that were treated just like they always have been.
Ignored by the media, not supported in any way by the RNC, and they had to run against nobody candidates that were wholly endorsed by the RNC.
cough cough..Kasich..cough Who are RINO's because we are supposed to LOOOVE moderates.
You have to ask yourself, Kasich was behind in every state and way behind in total support, Why did he stay in the race so long?
Because Ted Cruz never had a chance while Kasich was in the race sucking votes away. (speaking of vampires)
So, yeah I am voting for trump because the RNC wanted me to all along

I agree with your premise regarding the RINO's and their RNC appointments they receive. But if the majority of (R) were conservative it wouldn't matter. As it stands today, I think the majority of (R) voters are more moderate, which is why the moderate RNC candidate has been winning the primaries year after year. I believe the more moderate voters of the (R) party have grown tired of the status quo and are rebelling. While Trump has the intestinal fortitude to speak his mind (which is rare in politics), and some pretty 'not so middle of the road' political beliefs, he is far more of a moderate then Cruz. Cruz' type of leadership appeals to a small segment of the (R) registered voters.

Trump wasn't the RNC's choice by any stretch of the imagination. I'm not certain Kasich staying in to thwart a Cruz victory was something the RNC chose over a Trump candidacy. Cruz might have received some of the Kasich vote, but to come to that conclusion you'd have to assume the overwhelming majority of Kasich vot3ers found Cruz more palatable then trump, and I am not sure that would have been the case.
