Actually, most of the deaths are not directly caused by the doctors, they are a result of the system. You think its bad now, just wait til they finish socializing it. The last thing you want is a doctor that can't be sued. Don't get me wrong, I've witnessed some doctors make some doozies, just sayin.

At any rate, the academic medical profession in the USA and especially the AMA which represents only a minority of doctors is largely filling up foreigners who come from largely socialist backgrounds. And they come to escape their S*** laden homelands only to try and replicate it here.

I know many many doctors that are avid shooters and, dare I say, Liberty minded. Like every other gun banning group of morons this is a squeaky wheeled, overfunded, under-representing group that acts like it carries the voice of the people. Which it does not.

I know of several Doctors that own guns and train on a regular basis ;)

The tendency for gun owners and gun rights advocates is to immediately criticize a story like this. But honestly, don't you think there are things that could be done in our society to decrease injury and death from guns? We can fully support the 2A but still advocate gun safety and education.

Sure, I know that gun grabbers will hide behind movements like this to try to severely restrict gun ownership. We can never let our guard down. But I think we tend to have knee jerk reactions to things like this.

Gun owners are the only people providing gun safety education rather than calling for bans. Deaths due to accidents have declined sharply over the years and are now so low that they constitute statistical noise: lower than falls, drownings, food poisoning, and other accidental poisonings. Guns are less than 1% of accidental deaths.

Yes and we are doing so.

The problem, Mackey, is that "safety" and "education" can become barriers to entry to a civil right. E.g, the rent seeking education classes in Ohio or Texas for example.

Education must come from the culture, not the government. E.g., it must be "cool" to exercise firearms safety, often now in the gun culture it is not (why we have shootings at gun shows or active denial by gun owners that accidental discharges happen).
