Do you wash new underwear before wearing it?

New underwear. Never thought of washing it as it is new. New socks never thought of washing it as it is new. Sealed in plastic and all never thought of where the fabric was before the cut.

I will buy and change into a new shirt without washing also. Pants get washed but I don't know why they would be different.

I wash shirts, pants, sweatshirts, etc., but not new underwear or socks.

I usually wash all new clothes and sheets. There could be excessive residue of dye or other processing chemicals remaining on the clothes or sheets.

I voted to wash before as my preference.
I have put them on straight out of the package, too. Many times.
I'm sure many who travel much can identify with packing for a week and the trip is extended to two weeks.

I'll rewear jeans, but socks and undies, no.

Better than laundry on the road is just starting over with new ones.
Might not even have to bring the dirty ones home.

Now we wash every stitch that we bring into the house. We all agree, here.

Shoes are still a question. I order online and they always smell strongly of chemicals.

I usually spritz them inside with Lysol and heat them up in the dryer, like burning in your new grille almost.
Often helps.

That's been my observation as well.
Even shipping and preservation chemicals they use, like fomaldehyde, can be very strong.
Just wash everything.

I had a subscription for battle briefs which are great and funny underwear and yes, I wash all my new clothes even if I know they come sealed. If I somehow have worn all my other pairs without washing them and I need to head out, I'll just free ball it.

Reason being is who knows what kind of chemicals are used to make it or cross contamination from the same factory and also people can be horrible and weird. I just throw them in the bin and wait till next wash.

Voting bacon, but **** yes we (Mrs. Mij) washes everything new, and it‘s American made. Some things you just don’t trust anyone. Clothes are one of those things. Specialy grundies.

I regularly use the sniff test to see if they can be reworn........it works until I find a pair that need to be washed.....

Been so long since I bought any I don't remember. Used to find really nice underwear (good thing I stocked up) for a reasonable price when I traveled to Ukraine but can't find anything comparable here.
