Congrats! hope the funds hold out to feed the addiction. Got stuck with a big tax bill this year so have only been able to trade, although Uncle Sam now has his so can start saving up for next purchase. Hoping to acquire a nice S&W or Ruger revolver soon.
You say that you love your SR9...Why not get an SR45. It would have the same manual of arms (grip, safety, ect) so there should not be much of a learning curve on it.
I stopped by Indy Gun Safety after work on Friday and ended up with an XDS for a great price. The guy behind the counter, I forget his name, was great and showed me a couple of guns in .45. Took her out on Saturday and put 100 rounds down range. Definitely different from my SR9 but will be great with more practice.
Thanks again for all the suggestions. I should be good for a while.
Why? I've bought guns that I loved at the time of purchase, but after several years and a progression through other guns, sold them because they were not what I wanted. I recently sold a Bersa 45UC. I really liked that gun when I got it. Over time though, I decided that I did not like a decocker on a gun and it sat. I held on to it for a couple of years thinking that if I ever had a family member that needed a gun, but could not afford one, I'd gift that one. Then I decided one day that all of my family members I'd trust with a gun already had at least one and I sold it.
If you have deep enough pockets to just keep everything, then great. Don't sell. But, many of us need to clear the safe of the queens to get into something else.
OP: Congrats on the new .45. 45 ACP is a great caliber for anything from carry to plinking. It's easy to reload and the brass is easy to find if you do. If you want to shoot it a lot, then consider reloading. There is a huge amount to be saved by reloading for that caliber.
Yea you got the bug !Its ok there are many more with the same
Simptoms !
You need some sort of 1911 in your collection !
The Ruger SR 1911 is pretty sweet !
