Iv been going back and forth on the diy camouflage with spray paint. This weekend I decided to just go for it and I think it actually turned out halfway decent. I figured worst case scenario I could always disassemble the pistol and just acetone dip it. Here’s the results. Curious if anyone else has experience with this and what yours looks like.

Camo looks great. But "pistol"?? Looks like an adjustable but stick to me.
Its a brace. You can see the strap in the before pic.

OP make sure that strap gets back on it. IANAL, but my understanding is modifying a brace by adding to or subtracting from it negates the original design approval from the AFT and makes it no longer a brace.

    Camo job looks great!

Paint is still drying on the brace strap. Turns out spray paint doesn’t stick to them very well so I had to strip it and go with acrylic

It’s a sb tactical pistol brace. For bracing pistols and whatnot. Definitely no shouldering going on over here. That 9.5 pistol barrel sure throws a wicked fireball tho. I wanted to build it as a nightstand gun but after shooting it a bit, I realized after the first shot everyone would just be blind so I repurposed it into a barn gun for coyotes and snakes. She’s a rare breed of a pistol, that’s for sure!

Side question, anyone with experience with rattle can paint jobs but is it going to cook all the paint off the barrel and gas tube?
It'll depend on how many shots you take in quick succession. If you dump a couple of mags, I bet regular spray paint will bubble and peel. If you keep it slower it might last. You might have to buy some high temperature spray paint and repaint it once it peels.

    I've only done a couple.
One AR, my SPR style Larue Tactical Stealth 2.0, & my .243 Precision rifle.
Seeing as how these are "hide in the woods" rifles, start here.
They are both recent tests to see if I like the concept.
I'm thinking so far, I do...

I bet you were popular at the pride rides.

Me, I do the gloss black 70's chopper myself.View attachment 381567
My chop was an Arlen Ness bike, Ness himself painted it, striped it & leafed it. Took me 3 years of running down leads to prove it was "the bay area killer" Arlen gave me the formula he used to create the color & the silver leaf patterns.
650 trophy? 500 speed twin? Nice bike....needs stripes.....

Ness built nice bikes, this one is a 1968 Tiger 650 TR6, it say in a garage for at least the last 20 if not more years before I bought it.
Its getting some upgrades as I type this, new rubber, wheel bearings, all cables, a bunch of wiring, tins are heading to INDY to be dipped next week and will get the rot tigged up, the coffin tank bottom is a bit rotten and new paint. New bars, new controls, solo seat and at least the rear brake moved forward and most likely the right side shifter will turn into a hand shifter. Its not going to go far from home. My brain wants to strip it and cut all of the unnecessary off and fill all the extra holes in on the frame and then have it dipped and powder coated, but I don't think its worth the extra money to do the extra work.
1968 for Triumph was a constant changeover year, The simplicity of the pre battery Brits are simple and fun.

When this ones done I have a 53 Pan 70's bobber to redo.
A neighbor is a Ness Harley guy, he spends more money on Ness stuff then his ride is worth.
