    Well I'm wanting another 9mm, in a compact for summer carry. I have crossed out an Xd, or Glock. My Dad bought an m&p, but waiting to fire it. Also the mags are a bit pricy, from what I have seen. Fondeld a Kahr, but was not allowed to dry fire it, only comes with one mag, and from what I have seen the mags are pricy. Ifondeld a Taurus, do not remember the model and the trigger guard was a bit to big for me. I really did not like the looks of the CZ P07, but now am considering it. Anything I'm missing, only really stipulation is under $600. Do not really want to pay $40+ for mags either.

    I'll stand by this because it is what I have, know, and love. Some don't like the grip but it really doesn't bother me since before I carried this one I carried a P89. Good gun, good shooter, and can be had for under $600. 12+1 capacity.

    Dont own one, and I am not sure what Taurus you looked at-
    But there has been some recent threads here on the Taurus 709 Slim.

    Seems to be getting decent reviews, got to "touch" one the other day, and they are pretty thin and compact-

    Maybe someone who owns one can chime in-just a thought! :D

    well you already ruled out my top choices so... have you looked at a taurus pt111 or a keltec? they are both well under the price range and easy to conceal for summer carry. good luck in your decision. :ingo:

    doglb - I've got a Taurus 709 Slim. I like it - it's my every day carry piece. If you want compact for summer carry, I don't know of anything better in 9mm. If you go to .380, then that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish...

    The Kahr CW9s are good subcompacts for summer carry. Mags (same as for the K9, the K820 mag, 7 rnds) run around $29 at CheaperThanDirt. $30 for an extended mag, K920G (+1 rnd).

    5.9" L x 4.5" H x 0.90" W, 17.7 oz, 3.6" bbl, 7+1 std (8+1 opt).

    I am sorry if I offend anyone but Kahr is overpriced for the quality of pistol.

    But if you want one get it. If I wanted to pay Sig prices for a pistol I would buy the Sig 239.

    Kahr=Taurus quality/Sig prices.

    If anyone wants links to numerous Kahr pistol problems please ask I will post them.

    Get the M&P, you won't be sorry. The mags are not as expensive as you might think. The most I've ever paid is $23.00 and the best deal was $17.00... I don't think that's too much to live with.

    Just a little enticement...

    I have owned 2 Kahrs and 2 Tauruses (now have 1 of each), and I could not disagree more. The internals of a Taurus look like a toy compared to the Kahr. That isn't to say the Taurus isn't made well, but Kahrs are made much more precisely. You can get a CW model (mid $400s) for less then some Taurus models too. And God help you if you need Taurus CS, and that is personal experience.

    I'd say M&P, and you get find Mags around $30 new or about half used. I just got 3 for about $15 shipped used.

    I have narrowed it down to a CZ P-07, or m&p compact. Will shoot my dads m&P compact, when time and weather permits. Still need to find a P-07 and fondle it. I owned two CZ's and they where great pistols.
