Well I spoke at length with my 'smith who has built alot of these 35 wildcats. Basically he is telling me that the 300 WSM is the case to go with, 1.8 is probably gonna be legal but he ain't buyin reamers until it is 100 percent. Shoot a 180 gr cause the increase in speed makes the higher BC with the heavier bullets a wash as far as trajectory is concerned, and recoil is less. He thinks 3000 fps will be the goal with the 180 but until it is tested it is speculation.

Just for kicks, this is what I meant by trajectories being almost identical. 2700fps is not data from my barrel. The only 180gr bullets I have at the moment are SSP's and it would be silly to push them at 2700fps. FWIW, Nosler 225's have a BC's of .430 and .421 and would do better than the SGK below. In fact the Accubond would be within 0.1" of the 180gr at 400yd and have 1640fps/1344ft*lb, assuming you could get the same MV as the SMK.

Either way a 180gr at 3,000fps is going to kick!

Am I the only one that thinks it is high time we just had a any centerfire rule in select areas and we could do away with all this nonsense?

BTW Thanks Kludge, I will look at those number closer when I get a chance.
