One of the reasons I don't care if Trump calls McCain out. Rush Limbaugh noted today that Trump hasn't made any accusation that the Democrats didn't make against McCain when he was running for Pres in 2008. Nobody got offended or "disqualified to run for President" when they did it.

I consider McCain to be one of the last American heros.
He served honorably. And suffered more than he had to.

we can discuss his qualifications as president for a long time.

But I don't recall anyone on any side saying what Trump did.

If they did, they should be horsewhipped.

I like Dana, but she actually gets angry at callers, and trash talks quite a bit. Not that i am against this, i just dont see how that helps the cause seeing that a liberal will be so turned off by her they will hate her more. Rush actually converts people. Say what you will he's succesful, and most of the time does it without just yelling at a caller.

How many Vietnam pilots who flew a few dozen sorties are constantly referred to as heroes and how many remain nameless to the world except for their families? There was nothing to gain by Trump going after McCain. McCain is yesterday's news. I'll jump on the trash Trump bandwagon when people stop bringing up Mccains POW past. Otherwise Trump's assertion is spot on.

His ability to pilot a jet isn't what made him a hero.
Plenty of pilots performed better than McCain in the cockpit.

And some who died on their first engagement with the enemy are heroes.
I've got the names of three or four who never fired a shot in anger. But due to their sacrifices saved the lives of many.

Its what he did as a POW that makes him a hero.

Trump's assertions are horse ****. That's regardless of what anyone else did or did not do.

He's a successful businessman?
I like businessmen who don't declare bankruptcy. That's what I like.
I like people who pay their debts on time.

Since McCain is yesterday's news, why do you care about his POW past? I didn't suggest he would be the best POTUS. But diminishing his SIGNIFICANT sacrifice isn't right or fair.

And Kerry had the courage to testify to Congress about the atrocities that were happening in Vietnam.

With McCains political connections, it is impossible to know the truth of what happened while POW or if he was responsible for damaging the carrier he was first on. What can be seen are his actions or lack of them since returning to this country. They have been anything but heroic and everything as a beltway insider. Trump is right about McCains responsibility to the veterans as head or the Armed Services Commitee.
