Ok, so I have been after a 452 Trainer in .22 or .17hmr (probably .22 for expense reasons) for a while. They have been discontinued for maybe a year now, and I missed picking one up on clearance when I saw it.

I guess there is an option on the 455 American to have swappable barrels in both calibers. Any experience with this CZ option?

I have a 452 trainer in 17 HMR, a 452 American in 22LR, and a 455 Varmint Evolution in 22LR. I am happy with all of them. There are still 452s out there to be had, you just have to look. Buds seems to have them occasionally. I think they are all more accurate than I am. I don't think you can go wrong..

I have 2 452's currently, a full stock and an ultra lux, and have had several others. All good guns and value for the $. I know some guys who've had some trouble with the crown on a bbl or two of the 455's but CZ customer service has fixed the problem post haste. My thought is to buy a 455 after they come out with the new trigger they've been testing and get a Lilja drop in bbl in HM2 for it. Inlet a McMillan for it and have the perfect squirrel rifle.:rockwoot:

I have a 455 Varmint, and I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't spent near as much time shooting it as I'd like to, but the best I've done so far is slightly under half inch groups at 50 yards.

I know the iron sights on the Lux version are nicer on the 452, and I think the nicer sights are on the 452 Trainer as well, so that is something to consider. But if you're going with an American or a Varmint, I don't see any reason not to go with the 455.

Anyone have issues with a loose front hood on the 452? There's one on the shelves in my area, but something is just not right with the front sight.. and the hood is loose.

I purchased the 455 American with the .17 and .22 barrels and have enjoyed shooting the .17HMR so much, I have yet to try the .22....but know I will. Very pleased, a great shooter. Would do it again. Good luck.

I have a 452 Lux, and also had an ultra Lux in the past. Both are very solid. very accurate rifles. Both always worked perfect. I traded the ultra Lux only because there was something else I wanted and I still had the Lux.
