IN 1984 DAC kicked out the front teeth of my friend Nate at Picadillies night club on the west side of INDY. Knowing how Nate was at that time of his life he most likely was being an ASSwipe and the kick was justified. I did not see it happen. I think nate might have been trying to get up on the stage.

I don't know if DAC kicks ass but he does kick teeth.

That would be quite a story to have to tell. It would almost be worth it.

They would have had a fight if Dave was 30yrs. younger. Needless to say the rental cops might have ended up in bloody heaps and Dave would be in prison for another murder.

Seriously... "I'm a celebrity, people try to flag me down all the time ..."

BS. He saw 2 police officers, you can see on the video them saying something to him, he turned towards them, said something, and kept on walking. Officer goes to grab his arm, and he pulls away and resists. Good take down.

This is a case of someone thinking their status in life is more important because they are a "celebrity"

Good to know we have people right here on INGO who advocate roughing up American citizens for trying to walk away. Very nice!

    Hopefully your not a LEO.

Speaking in general. If I have the legal right to detain a person, tell a person to stop, and they keep going, I'm going to simply place my hand on their arm to stop them from walking away. If they pull away, or give me an arm shiver; knowing full well that I am a police officer, odds are they are going get taken down.

 "Roughing up American citizens". Here's a pro tip for you. When a Law enforcement officer gives you instructions, and you don't follow those instructions, and also actively resist, the officer is justified in using force.

You may not agree with it, or like it, that's fine. But that's what it is.

It doesn't matter if it's Joe Public or some celebrity douche that thinks he is above the law.

I wonder what happened in that minute where he got mad and the surveillance footage is conveniently left out. I am thinking this may be a case of play stupid games win stupid prizes.

You can laugh at people who question the status quo all you want. Someday, maybe not in my lifetime, or yours, American citizens are going to have their fill, because of guys like you, of this "respect my authority" bull **** you get off on, and things will change. I hope I live to see it, but the way the country is going now, with so many who think like you, who knows? And it's not just this particular incident, it's all the other "isolated incidents" added in that just make you and your type seem like you really picked the wrong profession. You obviously have a disdain for non LEOs. Oh, and have a nice day.

Well, can we not be civil perhaps and try to reason with an older man who was obviously not armed and not threatening anyone? Personally, I would never cross an LEO. Not all of them were straight A student's if you know what I mean, and I want to keep all the teeth that I still have.

To me we're dealing with something very similar to people who do stupid things with guns. We hate to hear or read about it and somehow we think it makes us all (gun owners) look bad. As long as we give police powers to mere men (as will will have to), we're going to get small minded thugs whose power goes to their head.

I am pro-LEO, but not pro thug.

No, it's simply people like YOU who have no respect for the rule of law or respect for any type of authority. I don't turn a blind eye to ANY abuse of power by any LEO. What I will call out is ignorance when I see it. Guess what.. there are people that have some degree of authority over you! Bring that up at your next soverign citizen meeting.

A lot of these forums are filled with LEO bashing. Sometimes I chime in.

I'm disappointed that no one on INGO can tell the difference between a casino security guard and LVMPD officers. The thread title should read "MGM Grand security guards abuse David Allan Coe." But that wouldn't make for a lively discussion on this board, would it?

Looks to me like things could have been done a lot differently on both sides. Sometimes people let words cut right through them and they need to get a tougher skin. Im not saying let someone walk all over you but DAC definitely got a little more than an attitude when he was told to sit down. Maybe the mall cop was over the top but maybe DAC was too. Politeness and showing you're the better person can go a long way. O what the hell am I talking about DAC is just not that kind of person. Thats something that he chooses to be. My last thought on this would be-Choose your battles wisely Some things are worth raisin a stink about but a lot of things aren't. Some people get bent out of shape so easy its like dramaville, USA. There have been several times I have got caught up in it too. Have to rise above it.

A Polk County judge has tossed an aging country music singer’s lawsuit against Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, ruling that the sheriff’s deputies who tackled David Allan Coe in 2008 weren’t casino employees and therefore couldn’t have done anything to make Prairie Meadows liable for damages

hope this softens your disappointment some.

I was going to say...I've never been in a casino that had armed security. I've seen LEO working with security in several though. From those that I know that have been to quite a few Vegas casinos, they've not seen any security open carrying especially on a duty belt. The security may be carrying concealed but there was an obvious difference in the security uniforms and the deputies uniforms in that video.
