Sounds like a clear Fourth Amendment violation to me.

This can be a great tool! While the odds of my suggestion working are low, I suggest trying this-ask for permission to search, and get the suspect to sign a consent form, or get it on video. Absent that, either an inventory search subsequent to arrest (vehicles), or paper the car/whatever it is you want to see inside!

I'm talking from a technological standpoint. Isn't this
something similar to what some welding inspector's
would use, or is that more on the thermal imaging arena?
Interesting that many of the same people who think the Second Amendment should be frozen in the 18th century, do not have the same approach to the Fourth.
