I understand the benefit of this, but...
When I'm told that all the handguns in Chicago come from Indiana and the lax gun laws of Indiana are to blame for the violence, I tell them it is a federal crime for an Illinois resident to purchase a handgun from Indiana without a background check. I usually don't get a response. They'll go to "six shots is enough" or something else.
Is it possible that a lack of freedom helps to defend our freedom?

I see your point, and you do have a point... My opinion is for the gains, I'm willing to give up this point of defense.
