Hate to burst your bubble, but the International Baccalaureate has been around since the late 60's. It has nothing to do with the UN or Agenda 21. It came from Switzerland and the international schools system. I attended an IB school in Japan that was run by Canadians. A private school, as many of the IB schools are. You're way off base. US schools could definitely do worse that integrate parts of the IB program into their curriculum's.

Just because IB originated in '68 and a "private" school in Japan uses it doesn't necessarily mean I'm "way off."

The IB Diploma Program was introduced in '48 by Marie-Thérèse Maurette and adopted/modified by UNESCO, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Thus, the UN by and large.

For further reading on the ideology that I'm rolling with - Frederic Bastiat's The Law. About 70 Pages and worth the time spent reading it.

    You're still wrong.

    History of the IB

While it's history may go back to '48 it's still international school driven, not the UN. A small grant from UNESCO doesn't qualify as a UN program.

In 1948 the "Conference of Internationally-minded Schools" asked the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) to create an international schools program.[2][3] When he became director of Ecolint's English division, Desmond Cole-Baker began to develop the idea; and in 1962 his colleague Robert Leach organised a conference in Geneva, at which the term "International Baccalaureate" was first mentioned.[2][4] An American social studies teacher, Leach organized the conference—with a $2500 grant from UNESCO—which was attended by observers from European schools and Unesco. Writing about the genesis of the International Baccalaureate in Schools Across Frontiers, Alec Peterson credits Leach as "the original promoter of the International Baccalaureate."[5] At the end of the conference Unesco funded the International School Association with an additional $10,000 which was inadequate to do more than produce a few papers, or bring teachers together for meetings.[6]

Ron Paul's accepted more than that in help from the UN.

Now we are rolling. Agenda 21, Kenyan interlopers, communists, capitalists buying off government for brain dead workers. Let it flow.

Here is what is flowing....The vast majority of information absorbed and knowledge gained happens between birth and 4 years of age. When Mom and Dad are crude, nasty fools with no desire to be productive(except as pro-creators) the children learn this way of thinking, and no amount of money,no revitalization of the Education System will prevail.

The traditional American public education system seems to be less and less about education and more about advancing a socialist agenda. Seems to bear an eerie resemblance to the modern media who are less and less about objectivity and more about advancing the party of their choice.

For those who choose private schools, if they can afford it, the quality seems to be better, but the expense is prohibitive for many. Home schooling is another option, and home schooled children are typically ahead of their public school peers, but will the government outlaw home schooling eventually?

State-run education is a joke. If you would leave the molding of the mind and education of the mind of your child - or children - to the State, do not then be at all surprised when the State uses this unique role you have granted unto it to then indoctrinate and brainwash your progeny, against you and your values, instead parroting back the misinformation of the State. If you love your children and would do anything for them, my sole suggestion would be to homeschool your child with a classical curricula and to cease putting their futures and educations in the hands of the State.

FPEusa.org is an excellent starting point, but there are also other options. Get involved with your child's - or children's - education, instead of being a spectator and trusting in the curriculum, the failed and atrocious curriculum of the State.

Local control in education is the answer.

Vouchers will give the government a say in private education curriculum...'you accept our funding, now abide by our rules'...not what a private school wants.

Vouchers are local. They aren't Federal. And they are the only way that many that need/want that education most can get it.

COMMON CORE & C-SCOPE are both bad news! Brainwashing/dis-educating the children. Pushing toward Communism and away from the Constitution. (In one school, grade school children were encouraged (told) to write: "I'm willing to give up my Constitutional Rights for security". This is the type of thing that is being taught with these programs.

Keep an eye on what your kids are being taught. Check their backpacks for lessons (homework) and ask their teachers for a copy of the class plan. (Some districts were refusing to share that information with anyone outside the system - teachers had to sign a document stating that they would not talk about it.)

    Check it out for yourselves.

Looks like Common Core is attracting fans. I wonder how many drilling leases Exxon got for their endorsement.

And? Why wouldn't a major corporation support something that would ostensibly give them access to better educated employees down the road? Should they be supporting something that gives them access to less educated employees? People are overlooking the fact that CC is NOT a curriculum. It is simply a set of standardised goals. It is up to the individual schools (state and local) to determine how to get to those goals. They will, (as they do now) set the curriculum and textbook contents.

Now we've implicated Exxon and a golf course that only two women have played.

You know you are screwed when the capitalists and the communists are aligning.

An Australian won today. Is there a link?
