I just picked up an older Colt frontier scout 22lr. Does anyone have info on this. Is it a good piece? Worth keeping?
conditionn is very good. It's like a silver steel for body and black steel barrel.
I haven't figured out the picture thing yet.
I do enjoy 22's but I already have a 22 revolver, however it's HR. So I'm assuming colt is better?

Colt Scouts are great single action guns, never get tired of shooting mine. Some allow the use of a 22 Mag cylinder.

I had a Frontier Scout that I put thousands of rounds through. I bought it from a life long friend 50 years ago. He asked if he could buy it back since he bought it new. I told him to make me an offer. He did and I sold it back to him on a heartbeat. Not because of the offer, because that's what Good friends do.

I have 2 and 15 or 16 (son was here on weekend so 1 might have left) Ruger 22's. I would give up all but one Ruger before the Colts would go. Ruger was given as a Christmas gift from dead wife. Cost $55.41.

Looking at the picture more closely I can see 22 lr stamped on the barrel, if it allowed 22 mag it would be stamped 22 CAL. This old geezer should remember to wear his glasses when he's looking at the computer screen.;)

I have one, it was my GrandDad's. I never knew him but my Dad told me he thinks he bought it in the sears catalogue in the early 50's. It was the first pistol my Dad ever shot, as well as me and now my kids. I will NEVER get rid of it. To much history with the family. Enjoy your new Colt, you will love it.
