I saw a survival knife cold steel has on their website their video demonstrations were pretty amazing they were batoning it bending it very far past what you would think it could take. It also allows you to put a stick in the back because it is hollow turning it into a spear. Does anyone have one of these and if so how do you like it.

I had an older SRK with the Carbon V blade. It was a fantastic knife that took a lot of abuse on FTX's, hunting and camping trips, working in the yard, etc. I would never do some of the things in their videos to my knife without very good reason.

Bushman. I have one. It is what it is - sheet metal bent, cut and sharpened into the shape of a knife. They heat treated it soft which is why you can bend it around like a piece of rebar. There's nothing particularly special about that.

I have "fohundredfittyone" Knives and the cold steel aint one :) But in all seriousness I am a hater but the bushman has a strong following, and is often found cheap enough that it probably worth its price as a "other" knife.

I have the SRK. Love the grip but hate the sheath. If you get one think about getting a new sheath. Mine is all scratched up from taking it in and out of the sheath. I guess there's a built in sharpener in the sheath for when you take it in and out so that's why. There's no way that this knife is gonna break. I've had it for 3 years and it's still razor sharp. If you wanna spend a couple extra bucks get the Benchmade 158. Same size, same steel.

Personally, i have always found it difficult to take Cold Steel seriously.

Maybe it is their cheesy marketing, or the management?

Regardless, there are unquestionably better survival knives out there. Ones that are actually being used by pweople in harsh, survival situations.

I have one, it was a gift from my good friend HandK!:D it is a very cool knife, I've not had a chance to beat on it much but it seems to be very solid.

You should also consider that you could loose it, have to abandon it or it may break. I carry a few cold steels because I don't care if I loose them because they are inexpensive.
