    I enjoy my Krag, but it's a (mostly) de-sporterized rifle that Bubba cut down to a "carbine" at some point, and I had to make my own handguard. Getting a "real" one from the CMP would be pretty cool, if it's serviceable. Same story for my 03A3 and my 1917 actually. Can't justify $1000/apiece, though, especially when I already have 3 good shooters and this would be rolling the dice on unknowns.

    This was sent to me by a buddy I of mine. These are going to be the price tags on the CMP krag rifles. These price tags are quite high for krag rifles with issues. You can still find krags at shows with a cleaned or sanded stock for under $1000. I saw one at the ogca show last weekend. For around $800 with a cleaned stock, and damaged front sight. It also doesn't help that 30 Army aka 30-40 krag is not exactly a cheap cartridge either.
