Just a reminder for all - I will be setting up camp and the target lines Friday (26th) afternoon. Weather permitting will spend the evening around the campfire.

    Will have bacon!

Niecie and her guest will not be able to attend, and they are quite saddened byt it. They both have entries in the Vawter show that weekend and need to be at the gallery.

My wife, both daughters (14 & 11), and me are signed up for the weekend. This weekend we spent at Holiday World, the water park side. I told them this will be just about the same, only with guns. :D

We are not camping, but we might swing by Friday night to check it out. We hope it's not as hot as this weekend was. WOW!

This is our first time, so we are ready to be "Cooks".

    Royal-1,

Glad to have you and the family!

At this point the weather looks like ... hot! But :dunno:

Be prepared for anything - plenty of water, sunblock, etc. For you ladies, a button up collar on your blouse is nice to to help avoid hot brass down the neck.

You guys can just tough it out!

    My :twocents:

PS: The cover HH brings is nice!

The firing line at Cloverdale, is not as bad as some ranges. The berm does not block the breeze, and there is shade for at least part of the day!

Do bring water, sunscreen, and sunglasses are handy. Light colored, loose fitting clothes will help to keep cool also.

Most important... bring a desire to learn. The senior leaders at this event, are some of the best the program has, it will be a weekend you will not soon forget. I look forward to helping to working with them, and helping turn cooks into Riflemen!!!

I'll be there. My first appleseed and, wonder of wonders, my father is coming along too. :D I'm only coming from Noblesville so driving in the mornings will be no problem.

    Good to hear!

I've got plenty of spare tent room if you guys change your mind and want to camp at the range Sat. night.

See you all tomorrow - your preparation period begins now! ;)

My family is from Cloverdale - where is this shoot?

I would attend on Sunday if you guys are accepting just anyone :).

My son's 1yr birthday party is the 26th so I can't make that one.

    Cloverdale Conservation Club
    E County Rd 700 S just off 231 about 3 miles south of I40.

Not sure if it's still sold out or accepting walk-ons.
DaveD may already be at the range and not see this.

I do know for a fact that one shooter is only signed up for Sat. so there's a good possibility a Sun. slot will be open. Show up at 8am and see.

Maybe Techres or Hawkhavn can double check the registration numbers?

We shoot at the Cloverdale Conservation Club. IIUC, this shoot is sold out, but DaveD can answer that better than I can.

We do sometimes have people come in on Sunday only, but we prefer if you're going to come on only one day that it be Saturday, because that's the day we do instruction, while Sunday is when we "polish" what we teach. We sometimes have enough instructors to bring someone up to speed on Sunday, but Saturday does work better, just FYI.

We do have other shoots at Cloverdale (and other sites around the state) throughout the year, though, so if you can't make this one, sign up for another. Appleseed Schedule

Edit: ATM is correct, DaveD is at the range, so check with us there. If you're already in the area, look for the truck in his avatar.

    Look forward to seeing you!

    Blessings,
    Bill

Bill makes a good point about the instructional focus being on Sat.

Even so, if you are near the area you are welcome to stop by and check in with us. :yesway:

Well it was HOT out today in Cloverdale, but 25 Hoosiers showed up for a day of marksmanship and history lessons. I think our youngest shooter was 8(?) and about 1/4 of the line were junior shooters. Always great to see.

INGO hats were on the line as well.

More tomorrow and some pics for sure!
