    High school friend had a '68 El Camino. Wouldn't lift the front wheels, but small block, 4-speed, daily driver that ran in the 12's. Which wasn't bad in our parts in the mid-70's. He would swap out the N50's he drove during the week for some 8" slicks at the strip. He could actually get it to hook up pretty good with those slicks.
