Confusion being one, but a reason for them not to take them off the books is if the state preemption is stricken, they don't have to re-pass the ordnance. It is already on the books.

Are the Park Dept Board Commissioners elected officials? I want to call out their pure ignorance if true, but do not know if they are elected or appointed.

“If adults are allowed to carry weapons it could allow children to be able to use paintball guns, BB guns, multiple other issues that make the safety of our parks a concern,” Kelly said.

The stupid is strong with this one. What's worse this asshat shares my name. Time for OC in FW and this clown gets a name change. Moron McIdiotson Stupidton maybe...

“[Citizens who contacted her] are horrified to think people would be allowed to carry weapons in our parks,” Kelly said.

I find it interesting that the Facebook comments paint a much different picture than this BS.

Got this e-mail yesterday. Hoosier Carry is taking up the fight, petition link included:

A law abiding gun owner in Fort Wayne was recently stopped by police and issued a warning for carrying a handgun while riding his bike in a city park.

The officer cited an outdated ordinance that is prohibited under the state's Firearms Preemption law but is still on the books.

Indiana's firearm preemption law is a vital state law that protects gun owners from being subjected to a patchwork of local anti-gun laws when traveling across the state.

Even with the firearms preemption law in place outdated ordinances like this need to be repealed so that gun owners don't have to deal with the headaches of "GOTCHA" situations like this.

The good news is that Fort Wayne City Councilman Jason Arp is standing with gun owners in support of Indiana's Firearms Preemption law by introducing a bill to repeal the ordinance that caused this gun owner to be stopped.

Hoosier Carry has also identified several other cities and towns across the state that have similar anti-gun ordinances still on the books. We will continue this fight until every last one of these ordinances repealed.

The bad news is that Billionaire playboy Michael Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Guns group have announced their intent to repeal the state's pro-gun preemption law.

If Indiana's Firearms Preemption is repealed these anti-gun ordinances would become legal again and cities and towns would be free to enact any number of obscure gun ordinances they want in order to play "GOTCHA" with your gun rights!

Sign the "Support Indiana's Firearms Preemption" petition to tell elected officials to repeal these local anti-gun ordinances, and to oppose and vote against any more gun control at the statehouse.

Then consider chipping in $10 or $20 to help us in this fight.

    In Liberty,

    Michael Thomas
    Executive Director, Hoosier Carry

P.S. Sign the "Support Indiana's Firearms Preemption Law" petition today to tell elected officials to keep Indiana's Firearms Preemption protections in place, and to get their illegal local ordinances off the books. Then chip in $10 or $20 to help us in this fight.

The Fort Wayne resident needs to contact Mr. Relford. There is money to be made here by suing the LEO who issued the citation and the City Council who insists of violating state law. I believe a similar case was handled successfully by Mr. Relford in Evansville. The courts in Allen County still obey and enforce Indiana law. Should be a slam dunk with the Evansville decision already on the books.
