Actually I'm not the one who made the statement. So no, I'm not backpedaling.

The subject was China. So how is the law in Dar al Islam or Singapore relevant? Is China under Sharia law and the rest of us hadn't heard yet?

Ness2k was commenting on his perception of his situation in China. I would hazard a guess that he knows better what's going on there and how he should feel.
