What exactly is a lawful order from a police officer? Is using the F word when talking to people considered proper? It doesn't sound to professional. Do any departments have rules considering that? I can see using it in a real heated moment.

i think this is great! i love it!

this kind of stuff will maybe hopefully start to get the media thinking about their liberal bias and what its profiting them.

long shot i know...... but if we could get some fairness in the media things would get better in a hurry

Is anyone really surprised by anything the gubmint does in Chicago?

    Seriously.

In Chicago you have the right to pay taxes, be an obedient citizen, vote Democratic and keep your mouth shut.

This (and taxes) is why people are moving to Chicago in unprecedented numbers.

    (It's all purple.)

You think all those restrictive laws are new? You think all those Chicago cops just learned how to become fascists in the last few years?
Nope. I know Chicago all too well. He is the golden child now though. Daley's days are in the past.

You would prefer Democratville? The District of Libtards? .....:D

It would be helpful to get the back story to this incident, such as: why were the police and newsies there in the first place? Did the newsies disrupt or block the entrance to the hospital? Why didn't they obey the police when they were told to move across the street?

These are relevant questions. The First Amendment doesn't give the press free rein to infringe on property rights or others' privacy (but they routinely violate both), nor does it give them the right to threaten others with unfavorable reporting if their demands aren't met, or to threaten to have individuals fired if they don't get cooperation.

I'm all too familiar with Chicago, having grown up in its shadow, but I've also had plenty of experience with newsies who think its their God-given right to do as they please to get a story. The frustrations of dealing with them are all-too-well-known to me and I'm willing to forgive a frustrated cop for saying something stupid while trying to do his job. You folks will note, I trust, that the cops released the newsies and didn't take them away.

Excessive force meets obnoxious object: I think it was a wash.

Your position makes sense, but I feel far less threatened by wayward newsies (at least in this type of situation as opposed to throwing elections) than I do by wayward cops who think that their badge confers godhood.
