Just something I noticed in my own search for a .223 bolt gun. To the OP have you decided on what to get? I'm probably going to pick up a savage axis.

Im probably gonna pick up a savage axis as well. New on buds they are 272 shipped. Im gonna throw a harris bipod on it and some vortex optics and call it a day. Just something to have some fun with

I've been looking for a used one myself, I did find 2 brand new at aces guns. That would be a lengthy drive for ya though.

Took my new Axis .308 to the range today. First stop was the 50yrd line to see where she was, at 50 yards shes was centered right just high a little. So I moved out to the 100yrd line and after some adjustments to the scope my last 3 shots were in a golf-ball sized group. I was using cheap 9.99 a box Herter's ammo.

I picked up a Savage 10 fp a few years ago and love it. I beded the stock, re-enforced the forearm, I also filled the checkering in on the wrist and forearm. I then Kryloned it in black .
I'm nothing but happy with it.
