I am sitting at home right now, working. I have my H&K P2000 on my hip. So if I answer the door, it is there. If I go get the mail it is there. If I have to leave for a bit, it is there. I have an AR in the living/dining room area, a couple in my bedroom, along with a couple shotguns loaded with 00 buck.

I really need to get me a good semiautomatic shotgun.

I have developed a reputation with certain folks who now don't mess with me and tell others to avoid me. Call the cops/DNR on trespassers often enough while wearing a .45, and word seems to spread. I used to have meth labs left in our woods. I would spot them (druggies aren't very smart in hiding things apparently) and call them in. Trash dumping...same kind of deal. I figured out which neighbors were doing it and they received visits from the cops with tickets/fines being issued. Neighbors hunting without permission also get visits from the DNR and warnings. Next time, it will be a ticket. I think I could write a book. I really am not friendly with most of our neighbors anymore due to the lack of respect they have shown for our property. They think nothing of trespassing and using our property as if it is theirs. I don't walk on their property so I don't want them on mine. They think my husband is the nice guy and I am the B#%=&. Those who know us know I'm really a nice person. Just don't cross me. It doesn't end well. :horse:

Send your thoughts and ideas on how to keep your family and home safe from BAD PEOPLE. I want to be politically correct, don’t want to go to jail for being racist. Don’t care what heritage you are , and I don’t think my gun cares either. Keep your family safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA
You seek training and keep training.

Live in the country on secluded/wooded acreage. 130 lb. dog in the house, motion lights about the house/shop, generator, reinforced entry doors with long throw, deep recess deadbolts, concrete/steel door "safe area", guns at key points throughout house, (300 Blackout AR, 12 ga pump, and 45 acp at the ready in master bedroom), flashlights throughout the house in key areas, both cellular and land-line, batteries galore, MRE's, fresh water supply, and a good supply of cigars in the humidor. :) Oh...and great neighbors similarly minded and equipped!

I keep a low (not low enough) on social media. My posts are basically limited to poop jokes from my kids. I make no effort to talk about business or anything, as far an anyone knows I'm the poorest dirtbag on the block.
Make absolutely no mention of any political affiliation.

We have a decent security system allowing online monitoring, and very bright floodlights.

Not well enough prepped for the random home invasion stuff. My wife hasn't really bought in that it could happen to us.

Most people are concerned about security in their neighborhoods. Organize a neighborhood watch. Your local police department should have information about this.
