    YouTube - 45 In Flight

I thought that was kind of cool. I've seen it before. I didn't see the bullet with my naked eye (although I have in the past), but I caught it on video and noticed it at home.

If the sun is just right (in this case to my back) it will hit a bullet just right allowing you to see it in flight to the target.

The plate is a little over 50 yards away and I'm shooting a 230gr lead bullet at about 850fps (from the muzzle).

Nice. That's a big slug to watch.

If your handloading get some in the low 700's and they are even easier to watch. May make your 1911 a single shot, but super fun. That and set up plates 150 yards away and lob them in. You'll have enough time to bake a cake from the time the shots fired till the plate rings! If you hit it!!! LOL

Very nice. I see a .45 every once in awhile, when conditions are just right. Big and slow, I guess. Haven't seen anything else. Thanks for sharing the video.

You think those are easy to see?

Shoot some TMJ's to the east outside at around 5 pm.

    They're almost like tracers, lol

I was able to see the 45 rounds my son was shooting down at Atterbury yesterday afternoon. With full sun at our back, I could easily see the lightly loaded 200g SWC against the dark background he was shooting from his Bersa 45 on the 50 yard range.
