if I have my gun on my hip and im driving to Ky but cross into ohio to cross the river into ky. Do I need to stop at the board and move my gun to the trunk unloaded or what? Im unsure.
As the others have said, yep. But! There is an alternative, (one that doesn't require a license from another state or disarming) to all that. If you're traveling east on 74, heading to 275, you can take exit 1 and go straight to KY without ever going into Ohio. It's a nice scenic route and avoids Ohio.

I travel the exact opposite when I go to Ohio for work. It's better than driving through Cincy traffic.

But yeah, watch your speed through there. The cops get a little ambitious....

Indiana State Highway 1 (the St Leon exit)... not Exit 1 (which is in Ohio)... to I-275 South.

    I usually go down Hwy-101 to Hwy-50 to I-275.

    That would be swell!

Lots of handgun bills running through their legislature:
    Laws, Acts, and Legislation

I didn't see anything that would change their requirements for reciprocity, though.
See Lawriter - ORC - 109.69 Reciprocity agreement.

They only recognize other state's licenses/permits that have requirements "substantially comparable" to their own. They require both training and a photo for the permit in order to exercise their rights.
@eldirector....you said "They require both training and a photo for the permit in order to exercise their rights." Ohio recognizes Arizona's CCW and there is not a picture required on an AZ permit.
