I was talking to my sister on the phone last night, about her getting her LTCH and our soon road trip to Ky. We got talking about Ohio, and she said, she spoke to a LEO in Morristown that, We would be able to carry in Ohio soon, if not already because they are changing/changed their carry laws.

have any of you hear anything about this?

I haven't heard that. Not to doubt your sister, but I would be surprised to see that happen soon. Ohio bases their reciprocity on other states having license requirements that are similar to theirs. IIRC, Ohio requires training and that's why they don't honor ours but do honor Utah, Florida, and Arizona.

    That would be swell!

Lots of handgun bills running through their legislature:
    Laws, Acts, and Legislation

I didn't see anything that would change their requirements for reciprocity, though.
See Lawriter - ORC - 109.69 Reciprocity agreement.

They only recognize other state's licenses/permits that have requirements "substantially comparable" to their own. They require both training and a photo for the permit in order to exercise their rights.

I think it would be great if they would recognize ours. that would cover my foot print of where I travel on a regular basis during the summer. (aside from stupid IL of course)

That's one of the reasons I picked up the Utah permit. Gave me Ohio (I have family there) and Minnesota (we fish up there now and then).

More an more states are moving in the direction of more friendly gun laws. Maybe one day they will be more like Indiana!

Yes. And unload the magazines as well. They have some really screwy laws and definitions.
