Got some extra cash, now cant decide if i wanna buy another gun or some ammo for my ak. Im wanting to get me a .22 pistol (smith and wesson mp22 or ruger sr22), but i know of some 7.62x39 (1000 rds) ammo i can get for $299 right now. I have over a 1000rds of ammo currently but cant make up my mind. What would you do?

That sounds like a pretty good deal IIRC.

I'm not real sure there will be an all out ban on "assault weapons" and I don't thing .22 stuff is even on the radar. But I think ammo prices will continue to go up. If you like that deal, that's the way I'd go. YMMV.

For that price I believe I too would buy the ammo.
It's very unlikely to find a deal like that again in the near future.
Plus you already have the 7.62x39 gun and I suppose there is some sound logic to building up what you already have.

Ammo. I've been buying 500 or 1,000 round batches as I come across them. Ammo doesn't spoil, and unless you are trying to swim you can't have too much.

I would hold out on the ammo. You can get it cheaper than that. Aim surplus has wolf 1,000rds for I think $208ish. Of course not in stock now.

Ammo!!! .22lr guns and ammo will recover much faster during this panic / hoarding season. But black rifles, black rifle ammo & black rifle accessories are going to be hard to come by for at least 6 months, and probably for the next year.

You can do a search and find a lot of things on Aim's website that aren't there anymore and may never be again, like 8mm Romanian. If they do get more it will not be at the old price either. It's a real teaser to see those old listings.

I would say buy the ammo. 100 rounds is an afternoons fun and then you are out. If the price is good get it. Even if the world comes to their senses tomorrow ammo is not going to be any cheaper.
