When you look at the "sanctuary city" scheme from the beginning it was a great idea for those cities with big corrupt blue machines. Leadership gets to bray about being humanitarian to illegals while getting federal funds sent to various supporters of the machine, a winning combination for them. You mean us to provide more cash, right?
I am really surprised there is not a mob out there in protest to this.
This is not the opinionated, in your face Brooklyn I have seen. Too bad.
What happens to the millions of people that came over when the people say no more? Will they be encouraged (forced) to go back home? Will they assimilate? Or will they balkanize the country or parts of states? There's some big questions that will need to be answered in the coming year or two.I'll be curious to see what happens in the spring. Will the cities move the illegals occupying the schools and airports back into tent cities in the parks or will these places become permanent residence? Do the new illegals go into the tent cities until the following winter and then displace more taxpayers and their children?
Big blue machines simply don't have the chips to stay in this game. Abbott is going to keep raising the stakes like a poker player as long as the feds keep moving people across the border into his state. How long will big blue machines be able to keep the lid on before the citizenry says no more? What will they do at that point?
2024 will be an interesting year with elections, cold weather, and a new avalanche of illegals arriving at the same time.
If teachers aren’t teaching they should be paid accordingly.
At least one presidential candidate has stated he will direct that the authority to arrest illegal immigrants be provided to local law enforcement. According to him that takes it from 6,000 ICE enforcement officers to nearly three quarters of a million. Only a portion of those of course will actually utilize that authorization to arrest detain and hold the invaders for deportation, but it will be a massive improvement over what is occurring today. What happens to the millions of people that came over when the people say no more?
