OK..Now I want one..Nice pics guys..Seen them at The Blade for the past few years and now I want an example. Where is the best place to find one for sale? seen a few on theBay but nothing that I like.
I went through several models of SRKW, Scrap Yard and Busse... buying every new model model that came out (easier and cheaper than tracking them down on the exchange) and several protos and customs. All in the search for the "perfect knife." While I never found the perfect knife to do *everything,* I did narrow down to some that were nearly perfect. Such that the buying/trading slowed aay down and I sold off a few dozen that didn't fit as well.
For mid-range camp knife, nothing has worked as well for me as an original Ratweiler. I've kept a spare - both are users. (Heck, nearly everything remaining are "users" with only a handful of users-in-waiting.
Second favorite mid-sized: SFNO. Saber or flat grind matters not, but the shorter, original length rather than the NMSFNO.
Size comp of Ratweiler and SFNO.
Really, really like the HRLM and RMD / RMDx for smaller/utility. The HRLM is like a budget BAIII.
And I admit, the Desert Jack hasn't become a user... yet.
The SAR is a user. That Dog Skinner isn't.
But that Dog Skinner is...
The INFI Scrapyard SS4 (INFI Meaner Street blade in a mudder Bog Dog grip) lives in the car combo with the lightsaber Kelsey Creek (David Wesner) Chopper.
There are others that remain but those are some that get used a lot.
Chopweilers are still "technically" in production. The Ratweilers were reported to "never be made again." Honestly, I don't think I've seen a CW in a couple of years at Blade or KC.
Scrap Yard. Crap... I don't recall its name. The Yard Guard was the MOJO/MOFO. What the heck were these again? Never a huge Scrapyard guy. Whatever the case, my hand doesn't fit the old small Basic grips.
HOGFSH with HHFSH.
Yard Guard.
FBM Proto. Magnificent blade. They were $697. Someone offered me $1250 a couple of years later and I just couldn't resist. I guess everyone has a price, eh?
Custom SHSH in the middle. The "original" black-and-tan that was more of a white-and-tan.
