I just picked this up at Bradis and got what I think was a very good deal for the rifle plus a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot scope. I got the scope mounted and checked everything over, still have to tear it down for it's first cleaning tonight then hopefully will get to the range tomorrow. I have owned a number of guns in my time and have been shooting for almost 30 years, but this is my first AR so it is exciting to adventure into something new again
Here are the obligatory pics
EDIT: Just added some more pics of the internals
What is in the box
I will be ordering some P-Mags asap
The scope comes with a mount and will also directly mount to the rail.
Very compact
The red dot is easy to see. The rheostat is hard to turn at first but loosens up quickly. It is no Aimpoint, but it is nice for the $125 that is sells for online
The Carbon Fiber Polymer receivers are very light
This new version does have the dust cover and forward assist
Another item to Magpul upgrade...
The gas block has a pretty rough finish, does not match the quality of te rest of the gun, but I am also a realist and know they have to cut somewhere to make the price right.
All put together and ready to be taken apart for a good cleaning
Here it is field stripped into the main components
Magwell looks good, no burrs or rough spots
Could not see any issues in the lower half. The trigger is standard but breaks clean with light pressure. The tube appears to be commercial spec.
At least they made an attempt to stake the keys
Nothing remarkable here to my untrained eyes
Bolt and ejector look good
I do not see M4 feed ramps, does this make any difference in the real world?
