Building a long gun?

Whats the difinition of building a long gun, how far down does the gun have to be to be considered a built gun?

im not sure what you are asking. but to me on a build you dont nessessarly have to do the machine work but pick all the parts. for instance im wanting to do a build on a lawton 7000 action. ill pick the action,barrel,stock,trigger. ill have somone do the work as i dont have the equipment or knowlege.

a build can also be a ar that you decided what configuration you want and ordered some parts.

a long gun can be a shotgun or rifle.

The receiver (or serialized part) is generally what to look for. If the part is machined to >80% completion, it's a gun. Everything after that is just assembly.
