While both sides campaigned vigorously, knocking on doors, holding rallies and driving voters to the polls, gun-control advocates far outspent their opponents. A range of philanthropists, liberal political groups, unions and activists raised a total of $3 million to defend Mr. Morse and Ms. Giron. Mr. Bloomberg personally gave $350,000.

Nick Stephens, 21, a student at Colorado College here, though on the other side of the issue, shared the resentment of outsider involvement. The National Rifle Association spent nearly $362,000 to oust the two Democrats, and Mr. Stephens said he felt a “duty” to oppose that effort.

Earth to Stephens... check the math.

I liked the line in the NYT referencing Morse's previous work as a chief of police. Yeah, so that gives him bona fides to address gun issues? Even Pyongyang has a chief of police.

gun politics aside....I applaud the people of that district for taking the problem by the horns and sending a powerful message (hopefully to ALL politicians).....
"We the People....", your bosses, are still here and we will be heard AND listened to.

I know most people, including me, think most of Michael Moore's stuff is WAY out there, but there is one thing he said that I always remember....
"The thing they fear the most is that the people will wake up and take a stand against what is happening."......

Heres the kicker to this whole debate....in order for the people of Colorado to have a recall vote, there has to be enough signatures on a petition to win the right at a chance to vote these clowns out of office....that means that enough people not only VOTED in the election to kick them to the curb, enough people REQUESTED the right at a chance to vote them out. The fact that they even got the vote should have told these elected officials that the jig was up, and that they should have started packing out early.

    Can we recall our Pres?

No, there is no recall for the President in the US Constitution. The only way to remove a President from office is through the impeachment process provided to the legislative branch. Since the US Senate is currently controlled by a Democratic majority, any attempt to impeach Mr. Obama seems remote at this time.

Did you guys see the absolutely absurd bawling and sqwaling those 2 were doing? They were crying on national TV because they were called out by the public for committing acts of terrorism against their constituents.

This is how the people respond to terrorism, all politicians in this nation would do well to keep both eyes squarely over their shoulder day and night if they think they can get away with terrorizing the public.

Dig out the pitch forks and torches, there's plenty of other terrorists still left in government, and this was a very inspiring victory to show that it can be done.

If that terrorist ever could be impeached, now is certainly the time.

Waiting for the public to forget the embarrassment he made of the US on the world stage is not going to help.

And for that matter, why not move to recall or impeach senators who would prevent that?

Our elected officials should be, and must be, held to the same standards and laws as the average citizen.
What some of these officials are doing is way over the edge which they love to push. Accountability might stop these "criminals"

Good riddance to bad rubbish. That "lady" that was kicked out actually is complaining about voter fraud rather than the fact people like thei guns.

This happening in Colorado ( California East) really send the message "FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS"

I see that all Colorado State Senate websites, as well as these two people's social media sites still imply that they are "Senators"

I encourage e-mails to comments.ga@state.co.us requesting that these "Senator" mentions be resolved in a timely manner, so as not to confuse.
