According to the Oxford Dictionary, it is not acceptable to use an apostrophe to pluralize years, as in the 1980s, but it is acceptable to use an apostrophe when forming the plural of a "single number", as in 7's. Not clear whether they mean a unique number or a single digit, but I think it's enough to give Indiucky the academic benefit of the doubt. :)

No one said anything and I appreciate it....But we all noticed those fake ivory grips were just a little too "new" looking for this weapon...Two days later after experimenting with two types of sandpaper, rough and fine steel wool, along with leather dye I came up with this....I think they look a little better...

    Here is a before....

Now I want an aged-looking gun. It just screams experience... Like an scruffy old guy who has seen it all, and could teach you a thing or two if you just listen.

I like the use of the old military belt in the first post. Looks purposeful. The leather belt/holster with the cartridge loops is utterly bad ass.

Will the Smith be at the shop today? My VZ grips for the 686 came in...

edit: Smith & Wesson, I can put grips on w/o assistance!

    It is.........:)

Laura snapped this at the farm this weekend...The grips were still white and I was still using the old WW 2 belt...That's the look of a "man just released from indenture" as Jimmy Buffet might say...It's funny...You make fun of suspenders your whole life and then you get sick, get carved on, lose 40 pounds and the next thing you know you are wearing a pair with a big ol' grin on your face....

    Fifty is the new thirty...:)

Great story and a great revolver. Revolvers are so old school, that they are new school to the younger generation.
