Bolt action with iron sights

Excluding surplus military rifles, I've been trying to figure out a good bolt action .308 hunting rifle with iron sights under $700. I want it to have iron sights but will allow for the mounting of a scope. I like using iron sights but don't want to have to be limited to iron sights or a scope (like a lot of modern bolt actions).

A M1A would be nice but doesn't meet the price point.

Anybody got any ideas?

Ruger Gunsite Scout is what you want. They are a little more than what you want to spend but from what I hear they are the real deal.

I had an old 1963 Remington 700 in 30-06 that had iron sights. Might be able to find a .308. I sold mine for around $400-$500.

Ruger 77 makes a nice rifle. You can use the sights or their rings for mounting a scope. The scope can be removed easily by turning 2 screws.

mauser style action, rugers are tanks, hard to go wrong.

I had a savage 11gcns hunter in .308 with rifled sights from factory. I don't see them around anymore but they can probably be had used. It was sweet when I had it. Even had accutrigger

Find a rifle you like and add GOOD, USABLE irons to it.

A relatively easy and inexpensive operation.

CZ makes a number of bolt action rifles with iron sights, but they may be beyond your price range.
