Is your MAS one of those Century conversions?

I have one I grabbed last month and I'm dying to go shoot a few to see if it has any of the cycling issues I'd heard about... I love the way it's built though. 'bout like a brick outhouse.

I misread the question. I thought you asked what was the best, not my favorite. I put FAL b/c it was so widely used and everyone I've ever known that has owned one just swore by it. It came very close to being our battle rifle. I've owned HK 91s, AR10s, the new DPMS Panther and M1As. But like someone else stated earlier I have M1As in my safe. The gun just feels right to me. I like wood stocks and matte blue finishes. I do have a couple with synthetis stocks but a nice piece of walnut on an M1A just feels and looks great to me. I need to have a McMillian stock fit to my Super Match but that needs to wait until I get some $$$. I shot my SM just last week down at Gnaw Bone. Had the gong at 190 yards ringing w/o any problems....

Here is an old thread that got resurrected!

There might be a new one of these if we ever see the SCAR Heavy, Robinson Armament 7.62, and HK 7.62.
