I just checked gunbroker. Cove Creek Outfitters has 2 for $629. No bids yet and only 10 hours left on the first one. $20 for shipping and $25 for FFL paperwork. Dang, you can keep your 870 and still have money left over for a few boxes of ammo and a pepsi.

Last time I was there, both Granger Guns in Granger and Jerry's Guns in Renselaer had them for 649$

Ask whoever told you this to identify which part it is.

The Ruger is a great 1911 for the price. I have a Commander sitting in the safe that I hope to get to the range in a week or so.

The Springfield Range Officer also has a good reputation and is in your price range.

I have an RO. It is one of my favorites.

I stopped at KS&E on Pendleton Pike last week, and one of the few guns they had was a full size SR1911 @ $620. I was inquiring about ordering a Dan Wesson VBob and basically left with a bad taste in my mouth. The fat guy (Daryl?) was unpleasant to say the least.
